Vera Foods is a Bray based startup born from a love of restaurant-quality produce. After years in the hospitality industry, Damian and Jenny decided to share their love for fine food with you. Their handpicked selection of premium ingredients is designed to bring restaurant-level quality right to your home.
A Journey into Food Excellence
Both Damian and Jenny have long, rewarding careers in hospitality. When the lockdown hit and jobs vanished, their passion for food became the foundation for Vera Foods. What started as a weekly presence at local markets quickly expanded into a full-fledged online store and gift shop.
They wanted to give customers the chance to cook with the same quality ingredients used in top restaurants. Every product they offer is lovingly curated, and they had a lot of fun sampling everything along the way!
Meet the Founders
Damian Corr – A legend in Ireland’s restaurant and hotel scene, Damian is well-known and loved in the industry. His experience working at places like The Merrion Hotel, Killruddery House & Gardens, and the Ely Group has shaped his refined taste for fine food and wine. His love for these luxurious ingredients sparked the idea to create Vera Foods.
Jenny Campbell – Jenny, the queen of south-side eateries, began her journey with her own café, The Red Onion in Dun Laoghaire. After fine dining experience in San Francisco, she spent a decade managing Dali’s Restaurant in Blackrock. Most recently, she worked as the wine bar manager at Whelehan’s Wines in Loughlinstown, where one of their weekly markets also took place.
Vera’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Vera Foods is proud to offer its own Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a product two years in the making. After the challenges of droughts in Spain and concerns over the olive oil industry’s transparency, Damian and Jenny decided to take matters into their own hands. They traveled to Spain, walked the olive groves, met with growers and millers, and tasted the oils until they found the perfect fit. Vera Foods collaborated with master oil maker Sergio Lis in Aragon to create two exceptional varieties:
- Vera’s Spanish Extra Virgin Olive Oil – This oil comes from a mid-November harvest, offering a mellow, ripe tropical fruitiness. It’s perfect for everyday culinary needs.
- Vera’s Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Harvested earlier, this oil is peppery, spicy, and complex, ideal for more discerning palates.
Both oils reflect the care, dedication, and quality that Vera Foods stands for.
By choosing Vera Foods, you support a small, local business that values quality, sustainability, and fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Explore their range of fine foods and experience restaurant-quality products in your own kitchen.
