What are barcode sellers?

Barcode resellers purchase barcodes that are outside of GS1’s control in bulk to be resold onto clients individually. These barcodes work out to be much cheaper than other barcodes as they don’t have any type of fees attached to them. They are sold for a one-off cost and work just as well as other barcodes.

What to watch out for?

While the majority of resellers are legitimate, some do sell illegitimate barcodes in order to turn a quick profit. These should be avoided as it can be expensive if you are required to reprint your product packaging due to the barcode not working properly.
